“Never Apologise – Never Explain!”

Or so said John Wayne… and various other people…So, of course I fully intend to do both.

First, the apology. Sorry for my lack of response here on WordPress, but it’s been an absolutely BLOODY few weeks. I’ve missed you all, my friends, but thank you for bearing with me.

We’ve had a fair few traumatic events here at CrystalCats which set off a severe bout of depression… something that I have had for a long time. I tend to visualise my worries as balloons and I’ve clutched this particular set to me for a while. Sometimes they have threatened to carry me off, but generally, on the whole, I cope.

I was going to go into vast, exhaustive detail about what happened; but on reflection, it really isn’t my story to tell. Suffice it to say, after a lot of emotion (and tears from me..naturally) my partner, Chris, myself and our son are united now, in a true family spirit of love and honesty.

There’s still a bit of work to do, but I am getting there. Doubtless I’ll find more stuff to worry about, and yes I will probably get tired… and weepy…

But sometimes, you just have to let stuff go.

  1. No apologies – We’ve missed you too! I’m sorry you’ve had such an awful time of things lately… I really do hope things are on a better track, and please know that we’re all here. I’m not good for much but I’m a half-way decent listener so you can drop me an email any time if you wanted to chat or vent. Sending hugs your way 🙂

  2. I’m so sad to hear of the bad time you’ve been having Samantha.
I noticed that you hadn’t posted but guessed that real life had got busy and that you’d be back when you have a few free minutes.

I am whispering prayers and sending good vibes through the ether, for you.
Sending my love and hoping that whatever it is which has made such changes in your life, resolves and things work out for the right reasons and in the way you hope.

  3. I knew I should have emailed to see how you were! Silence speaks volumes my dear friend. I hope things are now back on track. Brighter nights might help too. I find myself hibernating at this time of year. Mind you, I did finish the sequel to The Bequest and brothers Carmichael. Not sure you’ll like the ending though.

Great to see you back too. Keep in touch X

      1. Er, um…spoilers…can’t be giving anything away. But….it’s not my fault is all I can say!

I feel tremendously guilty at not throwing you an email now. I just knew something was wrong. Then I thought what if I’ve said something out if turn and you took umbrage. I do hope you find positivity from here on in. Today I felt so much better with warmth in the sun too. It hit me last year and this year again. Never had it before, but the mood just lingered. Although social media outage was mostly due to writing said book!

No need to thank me either. I consider you a friend and that’s what they do…next time I will just send an email x

      2. The fact you are here and bantering suggests things are better x

Oh dear, I have two in that series now. Well, I have yet to complete the first, but my target deadline for that is Easter. One person has actually read the manuscript and gave positive feedback so that inspired me to go back to the first one.

Really good to see you back too xx
